Fitter, stronger, breastfeed longer…

The Parent Infant Feeding Initiative (PIFI) is a research project being conducted by researchers at Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia with funding from Healthway, the Health Promotion Foundation of Western Australia.

The primary aim of the PIFI is to increase the length of time women breastfeed their babies and, while it targets couples, the interventions are channelled through the father.

Fathers are the focus of the research because we know that their support is very important for breastfeeding women. This research project will provide evidence about what works in terms of supporting fathers to support their families.
